I have a 87 na mr2. About a week ago i noticed a ticking sound, it sounded like a manifold leak. so i replaced the gasket on my exhaust manifold, ticking is still there. If i disconect the vacum line running to the plunger that opens and closes the t-vis the ticking stops... is there a simple way of fixing this? has anyone else had this happen to them? i can still hear the t-vis open at 4500 when i have the line hooked up but right now i just have it plugged and off so it is always open and i dont have any ticking. i would like to hook it up again though. any help would be appreciated. i dont have that good of an understanding of how t-vis works other than that it opens up some butterfly valves in the intake manifold for increases airflow at high rpm, and that when i disconect this hose it just stays open and i dont have as much low rpm response.
