Please....help me...

All of this information is in hopes of getting a quick and to the point answer...

The background: 60k miles on the car. Had it's 60k mile tune-up. New CT26 turbo, entire cooling system, refabricated manifold after it warperd, several hoses replaced, distributor cap, rotor, plus and wires all from Toyota.

The lowdown...just got my FCD (Ebay from a guy who owned an MR2), boost gauge (VDO, tapped into the line for the MAS as suggested by the Dr.) and boost controller (Ebay ball and spring type). Installed them all, disconnected the T-VSV by using vacuum caps to plug up the two places from the wastegate to the line into the T-VSV (Obscure, but it's the first way described by the directions from TwosRUs), and took the car out for a test drive.

The symptoms: At any time (cold or warm) the car would not see vacuum of more than 18 mmHg. With the boost controller emptied (As if no boost controller there) the car ran 5 psi. With the boost controller fully tightened down, the car would not boost more than 10 psi. I pulled the boost controller from my friend's DSM Turbo (set at 15 psi), and put it on mine. On my car, it ran 7 psi. Tightened it down 4 full turns, up to 10 psi. 2 more full turns saw no increase. Re-installed my boost controller. In 2nd gear, the car won't hit 10 psi until 4500 rpms. In 3rd gear, it won't hit 10 psi until 3500 rpms. The boost feels very restricted when WOT in 5th gear any time after 3000 rpms.

Main point: Worked on the car for around 8 total hours trying to remedy these problems. The car doesn't seem to vacuum correctly, boost seems to lag more so after the install of the three components as compared to completely stock, and the car won't exceed 10 psi to save its life.

Please Help. Sincerely,
The guy who is loosing faith in his ability to install what has been called the most simple installations on a car.
-Bryan

Maybe you have a vac leak? Check all your connections and make sure it isn't something as simple as that.

I vacuum leak anywhere between the turbo and the wastegate would only result in the boost increasing...correct? And is there any way that the FCD, being tapped into the boost selonoid, would limit my car to 10 psi?
