USA non-Cali mkII n/a to Cali?

Hi,
I'm not an owner yet, but I'm looking at a '93 MkII normally-aspirated, with no mods. This is an Alabama car, and I'm about to move to San Diego. Any input on the chance of it passing CA emissions? The car has ~150k, the engine ~100k. My friend, the current owner, is going to look into getting an emissions test in AL, so I can find out whether it's way out of line with CA emissions before I buy it and drive it across the country. Does anyone have the stats on a recently-smogged n/a that passed in California? Or failed, for that matter.

Thanks a lot,
Brett

Thanks a lot. Any idea what the differences were for CA and non-CA cars, if any?

Maybe this will help "before" you consider buying out of State. The rules never seem to end
