I really like the Privat-kraftwerk wheels but they ony have 17x8 or 18x8.5. Does 17x8 look funny all around. I wish they had 17x7's so I can put it in the front and 17x8 in the rear. What do you guys think? One more question series tires for front to rear or same series all around?
17 x 8 in front is probably gonna rub.. 17 x 8 would be awsome for the rear. you will need to run 40 series tires to keep your speedo as accurate as possible. the 40 series on the 17"s will be 1/4" taller than stock making your speedometer read a little conservitively.
I think the fenders will rub in the front for me. My mr2-t is lowered on tein s-tech. The rims I want are so clean though. But if it rubs I'll just have to look for staggered wheels that are look a likes of Privat-kraftwerk wheels.
maybe u could modify the fender wells and make room? I'm running 17 x 7 in front and rear. with wider tires in the rear. but my front will rub alittle when going over a speed bump and stuff like that. not bad. but I thought if my 17 x 7's rubbed alittle then the 8"s would rub for sure..
I also have the tein s-tech springs.... but I do have modified fender wells and flares... alowing plenty of clearance up front. as for the series... currently I am running 40 up front and 45 in rear.
MR-355-5sfte, do the 45's in the rear throw your speedo off much?Iwas thinking about doing that on my next set of tires.. btw, ur ride looks good with that set up...
it make it just a little slow..... say when the limit is 45.... I keep it at about 42-43.. just to be safe. and about my ride..... you must not have seen it lately. it is in serious need of body work. you know how everything was molded together...... when I hydroplaned off the state... snap-crack.....FU^* so I've had to cut off the body kit, and start over.
unfortunately I don't have pics of the crash... but I started a thread here asking about bent axels right after it happened. I was stupidly driving in the rain on the interstate with my drifting tires on.... I mean come on... what was I thinking? but hey live and learn. sure as hell won't do that again. 80mph facing a retaining wall across three lanes --- finally ending up in the ditch. not a pleasant memory. but I am going to buy a camera tonight so I can update my "sony imagestation page" with some of the repair work that has already been done... and my concept rear over-body designs that I want to go forward with sooooo bad. I'll keep you guys posted.
