Apex-i SAFC on 1989 MR2 S/C??

Hey guys, I'm new here in this board, but I'm not new on Toyotas. I have owned starlets and AE86s. Currently I have a 1986 Corolla GTS coupe with US Spec 4agze off an 89 MR2.

Anyway my question is, does Apex-i SAFC II work on a US 1989 MR2 S/C running AFM, stock ECU, stock injectors, etc. My friend said that it works on his, and that he tapped to the second sensor (which we both don't know what's its actually called). But on my car it doesn't. I dynoed my car almost a month ago and my A/F graphs are identical on all 5 runs even after trying to add fuel upto 8%.

My other friend said that it doesn't work on AFM, and that even XS Engineering proved it. They tried and tried and failed everytime. So he told me to use the HKS Air/Fuel Regulator Type L which is designed for AFM.

What do you guys think? SHould I just sell the SAFC and run the cheaper HKS AFR type L? THe wiring has been checked twiced.

i know of at least 2 different MR2's with this working in their cars currently. i was going to use one, but i got upgraded, so i'm selling mine now.

it's got a blue face, all buttons. i guess it's the one right before the newest version.
