I dont want my engine to die

my car seems to run to lean, its realy lumpy in the morning, and doesnt start to well, and was low on the mot even though it has know cat,and everyone likes to tell me its very bad for my engine to run lean, especialy on boost?its a J plate turbo with a few minor engine mods like exhaust, induction, boost controller etc but no new chip, and i was wondering if anyone knows a way to do anything to adjust my mixture inexspensively? thanks

Best thing you can do is hit the dyno with wideband O2 sensing equipment and find out exactly what your fuel mixture is. Or, buy a $300 LM-1 wideband setup to go onboard.

I can almost gaurantee that you are NOT running lean.
If anything, you are running rich.
Unless something is broken, MR2s do not run lean.

thanks for your replys.I mainly think its running lean because CO was about 0.05 for the mot, although that was at idle. And a couple of friends have celicas with the same engine, abd they are completly different in the mornings, and they black smoke alot when they drive them hard and pop and bang through the exhaust, and mine doesnt.but i think your right jackcannibal,i'll have to dyno test it.
very impresive stats on your mr2 jekylandhyde, and nice looking motor MRQturbo,i think i'll have to post a picture of mine soon!
