How do you know you are experiencing knock?
What octane fuel do you run?

The IC fan should only come on if your engine bay temps are over 160 degrees (IIRC).

Why would you want to stop it?
What are you controlling boost with?

If you were expereincing knock, your bosot would be limited.

The noise (pinging) dosen't sound right.
The car only has the factory boost settings/controller.
Lets say I am experiencing knock I thought that the knock sensor would react fast enough to only hear a couple knocks, and if I am hearing the knock for a duration without the computer taking over would it be the knock sensor?
Do you get a dash light if the knock sensor goes bad?

I am fairly certain you are not hearing knock. The 3SGTE's responds to amazingly small amounts of knock (that you can't hear) and start pulling timing, adding fuel and limiting boost.

Why did you say 2 posts above that you have to take your foot of to stop boost?

And yes, if you blow your knock sensor you will light the dash light for check engine.

take foot off gas to stop noise!
I wish I knew what I was hearing, it sounds like detonation.
is there anything that would cause this kind of noise?
could the dealer screwed it up changing the timming belt?

Maybe it's your valves tapping?
