5sfe to a 3sgte?

ok...I'm new to the toyota family. I just picked up a red 91 n/a with a 5-spd and t-tops. It needs work. First off, is the engine swap from a 5sfe to a jdm 3sgte reasonably possible? if not, what can be done to the 5sfe? i'm looking to get around 250 rwhp soon. later on i'm looking at 300+. what am i working with here? btw, i'm in antioch, tn(20 min south of nashville)
also, the car has been sitting for about two years. the car runs and is drivable, but the e-brake is froze, the clutch has a delayed engagement, and the steering was VERY loose(no power steering) any thoughts or opinions are welcome and appreciated.

hey, I'm next door in AR...if your lookin' for those kind of rwhp#'s u should do the 3sgte swap. the engines run from 1500 to $3000.00. I had a 92 n/a 5sfe and they are limited with the mods u can make. attaining that kind of hp from that motor would be very costly with alot of modifications. most of the guys on this forum would recommend the swap or just buying a turbo MR2 to start with...ask MR-355-5sfte, he can tell ya all about it...he was gonna do the turbo 5sfe. in fact, he has in his possession alot of the parts to do it and then had to put everything on hold..

Just do a 3sgte swap.... or sell your car and buy a turbo. 5sfte would be my last option. They tend to BLOW UP very fast . Where are you looking at getting an engine from? Some places tend to be pretty crappy/scams.
