my mbc

hey guys... ive been having problems with my manual boost controller ever since i installed it... i bought it from twos r us and followed all the directions and everything worked fine and people suggested me to adjust it in 4th gear so i did... after i finally got it adjusted to 15 in 4th gear... i start driving around and i notice that once i hit 15psi it "slowly" creeps like 1/2 a psi in there... so i turned it down the to 14 and went home... the next morning i drive it and when my car warmed up i tried it again and it was back up to 15 and i remember lowering it back to 14... that day i lowered it again and the same thing happened today... is it me or does it just want to stay at 15psi? it has like 1/2 psi creep no matter what i set it at... i plan on getting an electronic boost controller soon but i dont have the cash for it yet... you guys think im getting boost creep or something? here are my mods if you need to know them...

- Apexi Intake
- Apexi Blow off Valve
- Apexi N1 Cat-Back Exhaust
- NGK BKR7E Copper Spark Plugs
- HKS Fuel Cut Defenser
- Two's R Us Manual Boost Controller

yep, sounds like boost creep to me...I hit 15.4 all the time---no probs...I think with an MBC control over that is limited. I have EBC from greddy and it took some tweaking to stop the spikes.

well they recomended it to be set at 14 psi and not 15 but then mr2 controls says 15 is safe too... hks suggested the fcd to be set at 17psi and thats what i set mine at... is it safe if it creeps up to 16 a few times?

Your turbo won't really do much after 15psi anyways... you should be fine.

yeah, its a greddy Profec B spec 2... works great! I think I paid $280.00 for it off Ebay(inc. ship). had on for about 6 or 7 months. no problems - so far and it does have a boost limiter on it.

your oem turbo will not outrun the engine and oem fuel tuning. the oem ksensor offer great protection, most especially on poorly maintained engines.

I should be able to pick this one up for less than $100. A friend from work can't seem to get it to work on his RB25... so maybe i'll swoop it up.

Guy that I work with... has a 240sx with an SR20. Can't seem to get it to work right (I think I know why... but I'm not going to mention it because he already bought an MBC) so he was going to get rid of it for close to nothing. Instead of giving him $.... I'm installing his MBC and building a water injection kit for him (he's buying the parts... I'm just telling him what to get and putting it in).

Yea... I'm going to install myself. Where is your positive pressure line hooked to? FPR?? Have any pics??

Here ya go Russell....

the blue line is from the boost controller in the cockpit. I put a "T" between the line on the nipple closest to the throttle body on the intake manifold.

solenoid---the hose on the top( pointed towards the turbo) goes to the turbo. the hose on the right(pointed towards the rear of engine bay) goes to the waste gate actuator. the electrical lines go to the EBC in the cockpit. I went thru the fire wall and underneath the center console, then up thru the dash. mine is mounted on top of the steering column. but is very visible.I live in a low crime area so I don't really have to worry about it. I don't take it to the bigger cities like Little Rock, etc. hope this helps

the whole bay
