Max power on 3sgte tranny?

Ok I've searched and could find anything. If I've overlooked it I'm sorry. But what kind of power can the 3sgte tranny handle? I've found plenty of info on the engine but nothing on the tranny...

Well, there are guys making over 700 whp with these trannys but im sure their life is significantly reduced. It all depends on what kind of torque loads you subject it to. If you drive it easily, it will live a lot longer than doing 6k rpm launches at the drag strip on slicks.

The tranny shouldn't be the problem ... I think the axles are the weak point.

The 3SGTE tranny can handle a lot of power.
People have pushed 800 rwhp out of it.

The problem is not can it handle it, it is how long can it handle it?

As noted above, the axles (specifically t he CV joints) are the serious weak link and this occurs at 300 rwhp. I highly recommend the ATS Racing CV upgrades. I have put them through hell and back with no worries.

Just put pf curiosity, how much do said CV joints cost from ATS Racing? I plan on reaching about that power level next summer (lets hope) and im definitely going to need to consider getting these. Thanks.
