Talking Something new ... for owners of MR2s

With the help and blessing of Bill Strong, I have created a new Web site.
He is hosting, I am designing/updating:

http://www.mr2ownersclub.com/mr2records/mr2records.htm

Please feel free to submit your information, but please help maintain the integrity of these lists. This is truly a wonderful site to keep track of the MR2s racing history.

There is no way to do autocrosses since the course is different every time.
Unfortunately, there is no use in comparing autox times unless it was at one specific event on a given day.

You are not being a PITA at all ... I appreciate the suggestions.

I would still say the issue is the course is always chaning ... let's say you look at national autocross records from 3 years ago and you see someone managed a 45:09 run. What does that mean to you? Can you relate anything to it? Was thata fast run or a slow run?

With dedicated courses, like Island Dragway, Summit Point or the Duryea Hill Climb, there is an unchanging start and finish line. If you look at the records page, you can go and run on those tracks and come back and have something worhtwhile to compare to. Make sense?

Autocross courses disappear .... *poof* ... they are gone.
It is one of the things that makes autocrossing exciting and frustrating IMO

yeah, i guess i see your point. i just figure that if say a MkIII places very, very well at the SCCA Nats, then i think the accomplishment should certainly be recorded amongst its midship bretheren.

as for the "poof" factor...that is one of the things that really irritates me about autocorssing...
i guess it's a bit frustrating, yet can be frustrating in the opposite direction. i mean, i go autocrossing with some clubs, and if i have't autocrossed there in say 6 months, i haven't issed a thing because the OD is still running the same if not a little modified course. in the same respect, at SOLOII Nationals, we had to learn one course one day, and by the next day it was all totally different. HOLY LEARN A NEW COURSE SO QUICKLY, Batman! and danG, it's not like one of the shorty-shorty local level courses, either!

maybe we could make a list of all SCCA national SOLOII and Pro-Solo top 3 finishers in the MR2 classes.
Randy should be able to help get that info from the SCCA.
