Alright, I'm just stoked about 20 minutes ago. One of my closest friends got an Evo a couple weeks back. And this past weekend I gutted both my cats, and put a boost controller on my car. Total mods: Han Motoring body kit, ADR 17" rims with Sumitomo HZR II, short shifter, APEXi power intake, manual boost controller (12psi in 2nd, 13-14 in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears) and gutted cats. We raced 4 times, all from a roll. First time, he was in 1st, myself in second and he pulled okay on me...not near as much as I expected. 2nd race he misshifted and couldn't catch up. 3rd race I misshifted so he pulled. And the last race was clean, both from first and he jumped to where my front bumper was in the middle area of his car. Like, I'm spastic happy because I didn't expect my car with such few mods to stay next to his. Just thought I'd share.

cool, can u not squeeze that last lb. of boost out of your boost controller? that might put you out front...I hit 15.4 all the time...without even the slightest sign of detonation...I'm mostly stock too, though I am running rebuilt long block and all new internals..

Hm...My car only has 60k miles on it, on a fresh turbo and tune up. Might have to do that...

More than 15psi won't cause detonation.... but your turbo is not very useful after 15.... just blows hot air.

Yeah, I try to keep mine at 15psi max.. but 15.4 was the closest i could get with all the tweaking of the boost controller...and thats peak...I want every usable once
