Red face how do you fix a MISSFIRE problem?

hi guys, sorry to say but I haven't been able to drive my MR2 Turbo full power since I bought it. It only has 53000 original miles, I replaced the fuel filter, cold air intake, spark plugs to denso iridium, NGK wires, and I have a Blitz Dual Solenoid Boost Controller,
my plugs are now gapped at .28 and the distributor is turned all the way to the right (is that advanced or retarded?) and the car runs like shit... what would be a good gap for my current setup. And how do I know where to set my distributor? THNX ALOT GUYS

use a timing gun, to set your distrubor. that may be the reason why you have a misfire. and the plugs thats a good gap. replace your distributor cap and rotor that may be another reason why you have a misfire.

ditto what namr2 said.. if your distributor is turned all the way in ANY direction, your timing is off. re-time it-soon! before you damage something-especially since you're running extra boost

thnx alot you guys, I hope thas the only problem, I have a gut feeling that there's more to it, 'cause when I turn the distributor towards the center a little, it chokes even worse, so I kept it all the way to the right, just cuz it seemed like it was reving stronger, I'm assuming I also have to set the idle.
Some mechanic told me it might be the MAF meter, someone else said it might be the turbo needs rebuild, I think the guys at Elmore Toyota in Westminster, CA don't really know that much about things like this. THNX ALOT AGAIN, Jon.

Oh and one more thing, if I get it dyno tuned, what exactly do they do, other than spark timing since I dont have adj. cam gears?
