Question MK1 Supercharged or MK2 Turbo

Hey guys, I really want to buy an MR2. I have $1000 saved up + my current car for which i might be able to get about $5000 for it. So When I buy the MR2 I will sell my current car right after. giving me $6000 budget for the MR2.

okay, I am really undecided for which model I should go for. I really love the tinyness (if thats a word) of the MK1 Supercharged and I hear it is an awesome handling car. But I also heard that the MK2 Turbo is MUCH faster than the MK1 Supercharged ( is it really that much faster????). So This is a tuffy.
I want this car to be my daily driver and occasional street/drag races.

*How much do the Supercharged models go for?

*If I buy a MK1 Supercharged for about $4000, and put in about $1000 in it performance-wise, would I be able to outrun a MK2 in 0-60 and 1/4 then?

*What Mods would you suggest with $1000 budget?

*Would I be able to get about or less than 6seconds for 0-60 with that money put into performance upgrades.

Please dont say do a 3sgte swap, b/c it will cost me much and I dont think there are many car shops that would really know how to do it, and I dont trust some random shop that says they can do it when they really dont know how to do it.

i bet you can get a SC mki for much cheaper than 4000 try more like 2000 but your going to be spending alot of your money on repairing and replacing... for sure the suspension... my cousin is working on an n/a mki and he said that suspension alone is going to be close to 1000... he also said the best way to build up the engine is to get rid of it and swap hahahahahaa but sure you can twin charge right??

ye i think Ill buy a N/A MK1 and swap in a JDM MK1 Supercharged. That seems like the best way. I read a little around the net and on MR2OC.com, and its the way im going to go when I find a good deal.

Wow... I don't know where to start....

First off.... he wants an MKI.... if he is gunna shove a 3sgte into it.... its gonna be a lot of custom fab work

Second.... finding a 3sgte from a Celica would be extremly hard.... how many alltrac's have you seen in the states??? I don't think I've ever seen one on the road.

Thrid.... putting a 3sgte from a Celica into an MR2 is almost a waste.... because you STILL have to buy a MR2 tranny.... so why not just start out with an MR2 clip??

k.... im done. Sorry for the flamage.
