Wow...really...

"reverse the VTV (so the purple side is on the drivers side, black on pass side), then remove the black metal BPV dump pipe and plug the hole in the intake tube. i used a metal bottel cap.
it should now function like any normal BOV. make sure it functions properly before driving all crazy of course.
the BPV should NOT suck in air at any point. to make sure its not, put a piece of plastic over the BPV opening and idle/rev the enigne and look for the plastic being sucked in. next rev the engine hard then let off, and make sure air comes out the BPV. if so, you're good to go."

Got this from MR2OC, supposedly as a way to vent the stock bpv without running rich. Is this something that can actually be done? I thought the vtv was something that needed to be left alone...

sounds plausable.. I know that Doc J has vented his stock bypass to vent to atmosphere.

You are still blowing off unmetered air. No matter what you will run slightly rich. I ran my stock valve vented when I first had my swap done.... it ran OKAY.... but once I put all of my recirc pipes in.... i gained 2 psi of boost and ran MUCH smoother.

Swapping the VTV around screws up the function of the OEM valve.

That piece is crucial to the OEM valve working properly.
It IS what is responsible for the OEM valve responding so quickly and to such subtle changes in boost.

Thanks Doc. I thought it was, which is why I didn't understand how it would work when reversed. Thanks!
