Australia engine number and a few questions

hi i am about to buy a yellow 1997 mrt bathurst, i test drove it today it felt a bit sluggish, i think it needs a new cluth, as the enhine looks in a very good condition so does the inside of car. 84 000km, What could it make it so slugish but...? i put my mopney on a cluth going slowly.

It hasent got power steering , is that because all bathurst models have no powersteeing?
When should the timing belt be changed?
what is the fuel economy?

What is so good about the bathurst model why did that call it bathurst what are the diferances with a normal N/a mr2

thank you in advance and i cant wait to get it . i send u pics

What the hell is a bathurst? Is it a NA or a Turbo?? Sounds like NA. Maybe its a BEAMS engine (highly.... I MEAN HIGHLY... doubtful) as opposed to a regular 3sge?

Bathurst model was sold in Australia. Bathurst to commemorate the MR2's win at Bathurst. It's NA. The GT model had pwr steer, lsd and abs if I remember. The Bathurst model lacked these.

I just got mine today and it's fun! Time to get out to Oran Park!

Mine is a mid 92 model. I don't think they had a GT and Bathurst option back then. It was just one model. I paid $14k for mine. It's a sky blue colour.
