2nd Generation Mr2 Overboosting problem

Hey Toyota Nation first time posting on here. I had a question about my 92 mr2 turbo, it seems that when ever i get on the gas my boost goes up to about 14lbs than it cuts off i know that the cut of is the fuel cut defenser but i was wondering what can be causing my car to overboost everytime i step on it . My car only has an intake and dual greddy exhaust no engine mods or boost controler. Thanks for ur help Toyota Nation

sounds like your wastegate may be stuck or actuator is failing...

Any improvement in the OEM exhaust will be enough for you to hit fuel cut.
Fule cut only comes at 12 psi, not 14.

wow, i was actually gonna post the same exact thing. I have a '91 turbo and i have my fuel cut disabled. I'm actually hitting 15 psi, though. -=/ I bought the car with intake and turbo XS BOV. Sure doesn't pull like 15 psi ;( Any ideas?

- Oh, i'm using an Autometer mechanical boost gauge.

Thanks i'll have the wastegate checked out and the actuator. I'm using an autometer gauge thats hooked up straight to the boost line on turbo and not the boost sensor.
