HELP!!! I need a part car won't start!!

I have an 86 MR2 and it won't start. the mechanic says it's an igniter that is out. I guess it's mounted on the firewall and has a wire going to the distributor or something. I'm not sure what it is. Anyone know what this is and of anyone with one for sale or where I can get it. thanks

Steve

Smile igniter

I have a spare igniter but it is missing the electrical connector on the end. You can email me at mr2dan@msn.com.

It wasn't the igniter?????

OK, here is what my car does. It sometimes starts fine and other times it doesn't start. It just cranks over. I replaced the igniter and that didn't solve the problem. Any other thoughts or tests I could do? Thanks
