i would like to know if anyone knows how to put the 2.2liter 5sfe crank into the 3sgte motor, what has to be modified/machined?, etc. thanks

ChrisK on the MR2OC msg board specializes in this. From what I remember, you have to have the 3S or 5S block bored to 87.5mm, fitted with custom pistons, and destroke the rods to 89mm.

Do a member lookup on MR2OC and contact him for more information.

Why not just use the whole 5S block? If all you want is 2.2L 5S-GTE.

Some 5S blocks don't have the coolant passages to support the 3S head and have to be drilled in. It's not a big deal, but it does add some minor costs.

I found that my 5S block has the same cooling passages as a 3S-GTE block.
