either a short or something is being left on and using power with out your knowledge.. have installed a stereo or electronics lately? check your battery maybe it's just not recharging fully too...

dont mean to alter the path of this thread, but i left my MR2 sitting in my driveway for almost a year now, and the battery doesnt work.

Should i be concerned with this? is it normal for the battery to lose power if it isnt frequently recharged (alternator or other means)?

pretty common.... there can be many reasons for not holding the charge...age of battery, how much water is in them at time of storage. even a flashlight with brand new batteries allowed to sit for year will lose their charge. best thing is to disconnect.. but even then it can still lose the charge. of course, the newer the batter, the better to retain charge....do you start the car and run the engine regularly?

not at all... if you recall, i threw a connecting rod, and it has been lifeless ever since. never thought to disconnect the battery, just being absent minded as usual

I have another question though...

what should i expect to pay for a lightweight battery, and do you all have any reccomendations??

hhhmm? the last battery I bought was for my tacoma.. i think it was about $50.00...as far as a light weight one for performance cars. I just looked at a Summit catalog and they want between $119-$139.00 for an Ultima battery with 800 cranking amps and a 2 yr storage capacity
