Did they fail it for the mods, or because the numbers were to high?

I feel ya, I'm from Joliet originally. Had a 2.75" exhaust put on my ford probe with a high flow cat / headers / etc and I failed it horribly. Run your car down to less than 1/8th a tank of gas then dump about 10 - 12 bottles of "Heet" ( you can get it at any autozone ) into the gas tank. Drive the car for about 10 - 15 minutes and make sure its hot then go get your emissions tested. You'll pass fine without having to change your setup.

true the gas tank on the probe was about 13.5 gallons and the 2 seems to be about 11... depending on how bad you're failing you could try 5 - 6 bottles, won't hurt your engine. Just be sure to fill your car with gas after the test.

yeah he has to rev it up on the dyno for the emissions testing ( that's how it is for IL anyways, some places they just test at idle ).

I don't think having your car over 3klbs will be much of a problem. They never said anything about weight when I had 5 12" subs and a 25F cap in the trunk of my probe.
