Oil in upper intercooler pipe/throttle body inlet

Replaced spark plugs and wires. Plugs had a lot of black residue around the threads and gaskets and the area between the electrodes and threads, but the electrodes themselves looked normal. I pulled off the upper intercooler pipe to make it easier to get to plug numbers 1 and 2, and I looked inside of the pipe, and inside of the throttle body inlet, and there was a thin, transparent layer of oil that coated much of the interior. It wasn't a large amount by any means, but I was wondering if this is normal or not.

That's normal, it's oily vapour buildup. Remove the IC and you can clean it out by swishing degreaser or some gasoline inside to flush it out.

i agree..seems to be normal. I have the same, not much but everything seems hunky dory ...i guess as long as the plugs are wet with oil..

It's because of the pcv valve. If you don't want the blow-by oil recirculated through your intake, turbo, and intercooler, you can remove it from your intake pipe and put a filter on it.

But yes, it's normal.
