beings as you are pretty damn MR2 savvy, maybe you can tell me if it is possibly for a shim to knock if it is out of adjustment, it is knocking between 2500 and 3000 rpm only, also do you know of anyone who has ever replaced the two lines that are connected by the hose from hell by a one piece solid line? thanks for your guidance in this matter

lol ... why not ask two things I do not know about

I've never heard of anyone replacing those lines.
As for your "knock" ... are you sure it is coming from the head?
Is it an actual knock or a tap or what exactly?

well, at first i thought it was a knock but as far as that goes it does sound like more of a tap, its not extremely loud like most knocks ive heard, i dont know wether its in the head or not but it is in the top of the motor

MR2s have afew things that can tap/knock at idle or just above.

EGR ~ that is the copper colored pipe on the driverside of the valve cover. It points back toward the intake manifold. It typically breaks near the base of the copper pipe and you can see this by looking for carbon (black stuff) sprayed on the vlave cover and it's base.

Exhaust manifold - unfortuantely in the 91/92 MR2s, it is not uncommon for the manifold to warp and it causes a ticking noise until the car comes up to temperature.

what if mr egr was removed, could it be laekin out of the block off plate, i dont think its my manifold, because it does it no matter if its warmed up or not
