Exhaust?

Alright, here's the deal. Just had my 3sgte motor swap with stock 3" exhaust. Yeah I know...way to quiet. I am thinking about removing the cat..and running 3 " back into a muffler of some sort and dualing it out into 3" tips. Any losses or gains by removing the cat? Any other suggestions?

swiss cheese mod your current mufflers. what, that not good enough? get as small pipes as you can manage and twin apexi n1's.

if you dont have to worry about emissions ditch that cat.

add cowbell for effect.

I dont beleive the stock 3s exhaust is 3"... i remember it being something like 2.25, maybe a bit smaller.

im either going to gut my cats or remove them all together (i think one of the cats is replaced by aftermarket exhausts)

So you would have your muffler(s) before the slpit? i dont think there is room unless you go with the stock look (big muffler(s) then some bend to point it out the ass end of your car).

If u remove the cats u will get more power. But wat is suggest is get a 3'' downpipe with the apex n1 and you'll get an extra 2psi of boost. But once u install the downpipe and remove the cat you'll get the check engine light on. So get an 02 sensor stimulator that cost like 85 bucks and you'll be good.I Also aggree with drifitin dane i dont think teh 3s came with stock 3'' exhaust.Well good luck

I wasn't going to get involved in this thread.... mostly because I don't LIKE bashing on people..... and most of the crap in this thread is

You don't need an '02 sensor stimulator'.... that is bull shit. You won't throw a CEL... and your 02 sensor will be fine.

As for the guy who started this thread.... read drifting dane's comments.... downpipe is also a good idea.

i found a 3" tailpipe (2-7/8 i.d.) off of a Ford commercial van, and i had to make minor adjustments and cut ths stock flange and weld her on, thats a free cat back 3" exhaust, now i told that story to say this, one and a half stock exhausts would fit inside that
