Canada Bodywork on first gen MR2

Hey all

I just met one of my son's friend's father. He is the proud sole owner of a white 85 MR2. He's had the thing since new and loves it, but driving it all year round in our typical rust-forming southern Ontario winters has done a number on the body.

How difficult is it to replace the fenders? Are they bolted or welded on? The doors and quarters aren't in too bad shape but some newer fenders all around and maybe the front part under the bumper would really freshen this thing up.

He's torn between spending the $$$ to fix it and going out to find a new car.

Any help or opinions would be appreciated.

Aldo
