removed EGR

OK, I removed my EGR and blocked off with plates. but there are 2 vacuum lines left open.. should I cap them?leave them open? what about the little valve thingy? can I just take it off? My idle seems to fluctuate just alittle bit. very steady and rythmic between 750 and 1000 rpm.. is that normal?

so you finally went through with it!! congrads. as for the vacume lines.. try capping them and then checking the idle... just a suggestion? now when you removed the egr.. did you remove the charcoal canister as well?? <--- not sure if you'd need to or even want to...

I put my fingers over the hose ends and watched the tach-no difference. it's not that noticeable. just annoys me to see the tach do that. I didn't remove the charcoal canister. i heard it gets smelly when you do.. but should I?

wish I could tell you... but I have not yet dove into that part of the car... I generally tend to wait until something breaks.... I just can't find the time to mod lately... I just assumed that the egr and charcoal canister would be in the same system.. and since you removed the egr valve... I thought you might have removed everything associated with it.

I don't see any lines/hoses go to/from EGR to the canister..there is a electrical connector and 2 other valve looking type things attached to vacuum hoses coming off the throttle body that have me concerned. car is running well though. I drove it a bunch after I took off the EGR yesterday....

nothing noticeable, but I'm going to be installing this intake manifold and it doesn't accept the EGR... so i thought i would take it off first to see what the effect or problems might be

EGR is for lower chamber temp and better gas mileage. Don't remove the charcoal, its to recover fuel fume and burn them again. Cap all the vaccum lines.
