I recently aqcuired a 1991 MR2. I also aqcuired a swaybar link problem with it and they need replaced. I found out that from Toyota they are about $100 a peice from Toyota so I started searching the web. I found a website that will do them for $100 a pair. I also found that they have MKI, MKII, and MKIII. Which one of these is the equivelant to and MR2? And what is the difference between these three different models. Please help!
I think there may be some differences in chassis between the the Turbo and N/A.. the MKII turbo is SW20 and i think the MKII N/A is SW21..I would definately check that out first before making a purchase.....
Body and chassis are almost exactly the same on the turbo and na. Minor differences include brakes, engine lid, fog lights, interior panels.... etc. The chassis will be the same though.
i had a 92 NA. my one front end link was bad. i got mine for around $70 from partznet.com. partznet is conicelli toyota and is like 5 min from my apt. when i went to pick it up i noticed the endlink looked a little different. turned out toyota discontinued the earlier part and replaced it with the beefier endlinks from the 93+ models. if i had to do it again i would prob just get the high&tight endlinks from twosrus for around $100. they seem to get pretty good reviews.
I've had 3 MR2's- a '92 n/a got rid of it when i got married and bought a 95 tacoma 4x4, and the 2 I have now...awsome cars..tho the spyder could use ALOT more power. tho it does have a torquey low end. it's a kick to drive.I think it handles alot better than the MKII...IMO... but I love my '91 T
yeah, I know, just ain't got there yet...concentrating on the engine right now.... deeper pockets and more free time would help... but it's comin'--someday
