I belive the 1st gen 3sgte is referred to the motor thats in the earlier models of the Celica/all trac.
The 2nd gen is referred to the motor in the 91-95 *U.S.* *91-93 Japan* It's rated at 200hp for U.S. and 225hp for Japan.
The 3rd gen was only available and sold pretty much everywhere except the U.S. *go figure*. It's rated at 245hp and comes with LSD.
There is a 4rth gen, however it is not *to my knowledge* meant for the mr2. But rather is implemented in the Caldina and is rated at 260hp.
Hope this helps.

Isaac

^ Yea..... 2nd gen has an LSD OPTION. Like MRQ said.... it was an OPTION. Not all second gens are going to have LSD.... but most 93+ do. You can mate a LSD tranny to any gen 3sgte though. Hope that helps.

OFF TOPIC: 93mr2tbar.... were you at the meet at the santa fe dam?? Car looks familliar.
