Question Power Steering Checklist help

Ok, I posted this topic on MR2oc …but they kinda went off topic talking about how I can benefit w/o Power steering cause I’ll get jacked….lol

Ok here is my check list can you guys tell me what the steering knuckle does? And what else im missing?

Checklist –

Steering Rack….already got

Steering Knuckle….(what does that do? And its coming in the mail)

Steering ECU…..my guy can’t find one for now…need to get one

Steering Reservoir….don’t have that yet either

Steering Pump….. Don’t have that either

  • What is the function of the Steering Knuckle?
  • Does anybody have any of those spare parts?
  • What else am I missing in order to get power steering?

I really want power steering in my car….cause this parallel parking is ridiculous in NY and plus…turning / moving the wheel at slow speeds is a bitch.

Thanks guys…..any help would be appreciated!

I'm sure I have all of the parts you need (except for the pump) since I just removed the P/S from my car.

There steering knuckle is what transitions from the rack to the steering column.

You are also going to need the lower steering column. You do not need to whole column, just the lower part. I have this part as well. It is $70 from the dealer new. I'll sell it to you for $40 shipped.

Make me an offer on the ECU and reservoir.

lol ... are you not reading what I am writing over there?
The very first sentence I wrote in this thread says I do not have the pump :p

I sold my pump and the rack, I should have everything else.

I should have the ECU and the reservoir (make an offer).
I'll check for them when I get home tonight.

I just mailed the reservoir and lower steering column parts.
If you tell me your MR2OC board name I will leave you a positive trader rating over there.

Good luck with your project.
