Unhappy problems after tune up

hey everyone
i had jus performed a "major" tune up on my car (spark plugs, wires, O2 sensor, filter etc. changed oil and new brake pads) and i didnt notice a problem till i went driving the other day. After out running an rsx, at a stoplight i smelled what was like a burned clutch but then noticed my engine smoking for a while wen the wind blew it into my car. anyone kno the source? and also i think there is a problem with the timing belt??? there is a not loud but noticeable squeeling at 3400+rpm. (lol kinda sounds like a turbo spooling tho...) i double checked the parts i put in and all are the proper ones and working seemingly fine.

thnks

your timing belt won't squeel like a banshee.... if it does, you're already screwed... and you'll know it.
then squeeling is probobly either the ac belt, or the alternator belt... I'd put my money on the Alt. belt
most likely it's just loose, but it might be worn-out as well.
and for the smoking after a hard drive..... mine does the same, but I have a SLOW leaking rear main seal... which in turn spills just a few drops of oil onto the exhaust.... and then looks like the engine is smoking like hell.

i agree with MR-355. I would start with the belt and go from there. I doubt if it's your timing belt. when it goes, it just goes...

when you noticed the "burnt clutch" smell... were you having to brake hard to keep from running the stop light? I've noticed after I upgraded my rotors to drilled\slotted, and new pads... if I am braking hard, or really often... it tends to smell like a burning clutch... in my case it was just the new pads slipping a bit. so I took them out and roughed them up a bit with some 60 grit sand paper... stopped the burning, and the ever so irritating brake squeel.

had you noticed if your car was leaking any oil prior to this?
