looking to buy a MR2

I'm looking for a small, sporty, reliable and economical car to daily drive.
I've came to the conclusion it's either going to be a honda del sol or toyota mr2.

I like the idea of having a MR sports car b/c i'm not fod of FWD cars at all, I live in Florida so snow isnt an issue.

I'm going to look at a 1992 MR2 non-turbo 5 speed and was wondering what to look for. the car has 160k on the chasis but the owner claims everything has been worked on and maintained properly. new clutch, engine rebuild @ 100k.

what usually should a buyer look for in these cars, for I havnet got a clue, i've only driven domestic sports cars (camaro/mustangs).

thanks!!

they have a comprehensive mr2 buyers guide. It should point you in the right direction.

i didnt read the buyers guide, but it should definitely tell you to pull up the carpet (at least a bit) to look for rust from leaking t-tops/windows/sunroof. head gaskets are a major point to look at too (ask if it has had a compression test recently) and be sure he has documentation of the "rebuild" if he cant supply that, then it probably didnt happen.
