OK, today I drove to Little Rock (about 100 miles) and when i got off the interstate and was gonna down shift into 4th, I push in the clutch pedal and it goes almost all the way to the floor and stays there...I pulled into a parking lot and I stepped on the pedal a couple of times and it popped back up and everything seemed to be fine. drove around town and ran my errands without a problem. then, on the way home-same thing. when i got off the interstate and tried to downshift it stayed on the floor again and I couldn't get it into any gear. so i pulled up the pedal with my left foot and it all seems fine again. checked the fluid in clutch master- it was full. any I deas? the only thing I have done in the past few weeks to the car was change plug wires and remove EGR..I'm trippin'....???
the others gave me a good place to start... I was already thinking of getting a new clutch and 8lb chromoly flywheel....that'll be my next project(expense)...
OK, checked out the clutch short of pulling out the tranny. it's been working fine since this happened. all I found was a vacuum line that had slipped off. But I didnt't think that there are any vacuum lines associated with the clutch system.. the yellow hose on the throttle body closest to the inlet was the one that came off. does it have anything to do with the clutch?
I cant see how anything associated with the clutch would have a vaccum line to your throttle body inlet... just doesnt make very much sense
BUT, im just going off of logic here, and im not a mechanic...
(have you experienced any more clutch problems since you reconnected that vac line?)
Nope...sure haven't...been working just fine...I'm stumped...tho it's working fine now, I don't want to be out and about and that shit happen again...and like u, i don't see any connection between the vacuum line and the clutch...I don't think there is any association.. but it was the ONLY thing I found out of place/wrong
