2nd Generation Aftermarket Car Alarm Disables MR2

This may be a stupid question, but I'm a newbie under a time constraint. To make a long story short it goes something like this: I bought a 1991 MR2 Turbo from a seller in California. He shipped it to Chicago for me. Now I have to pick it up down there (aobut 2-1/2 hours from home). The car has an aftermarket alarm that the seller didn't send the key cooresponding key fob with. Now the car is sitting in the shipper's lot and the alarm goes off any time you do anything to it and the battery is dying. The guy down there said he'd disable the alarm if he could figure out how to open the hood(s). How are the front and rear hoods on a MR2 opened? I know it's a stupid question, but I haven't even been in this car yet. Please help.

Also, do you think I should put the car on a flatbed and truck it back up here or would you risk a 6 hour round-trip just to find out the car indeed won't drive? I guess that's a question I have to answer myself, but I waas just looking for input.

As for opening the hoods, the front should be the same as a normal car, right by your left knee. The engine hatch is on the side right behind the driver door. You have to put the seat forward a bit. and the trunk is right next to the driver seat.

As for your alarm. I had the same problem. But the car still started with the alarm going off. It will kill the battery, but the car should still start. To disable mine, I just unplugged the computer which is normally hidden down by your pedals.

That would be the logical thing to do. There are a few problems with that though. First, I have to pick up the car tomorrow. Secondly, the seller is a total deabeat. It's taken a month and a half to just get the car shipped to me. He hasn't return any of my calls or e-mails in the past month. I've had local authorities assisting me, filed a formal complaint with the FBI, etc. He's a total joke.

I just want to get the car tomorrow and be done with him outright. Besides, I live in a safe area of the country and would never use an alarm anyway. In my experience they are way more trouble than they're worth.

Thanks for the replies. I'll be in a much better mood when I actually get the car picked up and have the whole car purchasing problems in the "rearviewmirror", so to speak.
