Question Heater core tube replacement

The dang stealership is tellin me that when they replaced the two hard cooling lines under my car that they found that the heater core tubes were dry rotted and needed replaced along with the fuel filler neck. They say they have to drop the fuel cell in order to acomplish all this mess.Do they have to drop it or am i being ripped off?I took it to a Toyota dealership so I hope they aren't tryin to rip me off or anything....I know that if it comes to taking the fuel tank and dropping it that I don't have the means to do this myself .Any words of wisdom or encouragment would be highly appreciated Thanks.

I don't know if you got an mk1 or mk2 but on the mk1 the tank needs to be dropped to take the heater lines out. They are bolted on the top side.

The heater lines seem to get rotten faster than the rad lines. If your rad lines are bad, than i would say your heater line are very bad.

Is it leaking? sometimes the front hear line claps snap due to rust and you have a leak there.

This stuff doesn't have to be done at the dealer really. Any mechanic should be able to do it. Dealer mechanics read the BGB before they work on a 2. LOL
