What do you want the car to do?

There are lots of turbos for lots of applications ... what's your goal?

Well from my understanding the stock 3sgte can hold up to about 350 whp with no problems ( or so ive read). And the engine stock comes with 200 hp, so i guess i would like to add on about 70-100 hp.

The stock engine is rated for 200 HP which means it actually puts out about 165 rwhp.
I am on nearly stock engine and I am putting down close to 400 rwhp.\

At any rate, that doesn't answer the question entirely.

With a turbo car, where you get the power is crucial.
So where do you want?

Do you want a low-end fast spooling turbo for street driving and autocross racing
or
would you prefer a larger turbo for highend insane power for drag racing and bragging rights?

The OEM turbo is small and fast spooling which is great for street/autocross, but it has no top end ... above 5500 rpms it is out of breathe.

You need to decide what type of turbo you want and that is going to be dependent on how you drive and what you prefer.

Yeah i was reading about the fuel cut that they put on the stock turbo. Thats why it has no juice after 5500 rpm. I guess i would like a turbo that would spool all the way to redline. Even though i do really enjoy cornering..... But who doesnt in an MR2. Whats a good turbo that will spool rather fast and go all the way to redline?

Fuel cut and not having juice over 5500 rpm are two entirely different things.

It sounds to me like you would want a middle of the road turbo ... accept a little bit more lag on the bottom, but get a lot up top.

I would suggest either a TD06 or a T3T4.

If you click my siggy picture it will take you to ATS Racings site ... contact them about their TD06 kits. Tell them I sent you

Also, do some research on companies that offer a T3T4 kit for the MR2.

For 70-100hp, I would recommend basic mods and the ATS CT27. You can pull near 275 out of the stock fuel system, so unless you want to upgrade the stock fuel, I think the 27 is your best bet. Otherwise, listen to the good Doctor, he knows what's up about stock internals.
