Exclamation 3 for 3 ~ Hyde takes 3rd straight win and 2nd straight hill climb record

Wow, what a weekend.

I was having major issues with my brakes all weekend, but I managed to adjust to the poor performance I was getting from them and succeeded in winning the Pagoda Hill Climb.

The previous hill record for the SM2 (street modified 2-seaters) was 60.9 seconds. I had gone 61.7 last year.

This year I spanked out a 59.8! ... it is extremely rare for a street legal car to go under a minute on this hill so I was shocked. I did manage 4 other runs at 60.**, two of those were 60.0Xs.

So I won the SM2 class and set the hill record for the class.
This season I have 3 wins, a third and an 8th.

The awesome part is I am really not happy with the cars performance.
There is a lot of tweaking that needs to be done.

Photos here (I think there is 4 shots of Hyde there) :

The Yellow Audi was the only door car faster than me, but that is a full blown race car ~ not street legal. That Audi was insane, twin-turbo 2.6 liter 6 cylinder and AWD ... and serious brakes. I am on my stock brakes that were performing really poorly. He was on slicks and I was on sticky-Kumhos. He ran a best of 58 and I went 59 so I am not complaining.

Thanks for the support everyone

Almost all of my racing is in Pennsylvania nad New Jersey.
Now that I have a truck and an enclsoed trailer, I can travel farther to race.

The problem is getting time off of work and being able to afford gas for the towing rig and places to sleep.

I do not plan on traveling for drag races until I am at least in the very low 11s consistently.
I would love to travel for other hill climb events, but there are not many around.

Find me a hill climb, a cheap place to stay or camp and I just might make a trip

I only have video from last year ... I did not record this weekend at all.

This event was 1 mile, in August we run the same hill but it is a 2.3 mile course.
There is an in-car video on my Web site of that course.

You can get a DVD of 2 hours of my racing on twosrus.com here:

The black RX7 is fast as hell. At this event I got him by 1 second.
At the last event he got me by 3 seconds!

You asked about rules for Solo II.
Solo II is autocrossing which is not the same thing as hillclimbing.

Solo II info here: www.autox4u.com
Hill Climbing info here: www.pahillclimb.org
