HID for MK1? Or anything but stock??

I have an 89... and I'm tired of the yellow sealed beam lights. Are there any kits that replace them? I'd love projector with HID... but anything that's better than stock I will settle for!

I had a cheapo ebay H4 kit for my Camaro and I hated them! The bulbs melted the cheap plastic housing, and the lens was plastic too so it looked like crap in a few months.

I also had silverstars in my Golf and Prizm, and they seemed like a weak flashlight.

Did you upgrade your harness? Where did you get the kit?

$80 for bulbs, NOT for the headlight conversions. not only that, i don't know if the crystal lenses are even made anymore.

Yes, I know, but I would pay $80 for the bulbs alone!

get silverstars or cool blues and buy an upgraded wiring harness (optional)

if the headlights are still yellowish then that's b/c ur headlight lenses are so old they're discolored and all u need are new lenses (stock will be fine, esp. with silverstars or cool blues)

ummm, AW11's don't have the problem with the headlight housings going yellow as they used a sealed beam lamp.

Here's the lady to call:

juliedisortex@aol.com
Phone: 800-833-3839 ext 3

Tell her you want the H4-style 200mm rectangular glass Cibie-Valeo E-code units. These are European, hard-cutoff H4 headlights that will make even Hella's look crappy. She'll want you to buy her Xenon-enhanced lamps as well, and they are great, but they won't be exactly what you are looking for. If you've never seen an E-code cutoff pattern, you'll be entertained, to say the least. These are awesome, very high quality units.

Next, do an exhaustive websearch (for best price) for Farenheit H4 lamps. Get the 90/100W H4's. Believe me, a 90W low beam is killer. And when you hit the high beams, OMG.

You will NOT find a better setup than this unless you get the real HID Xenon arc lamps.

I have an H4 conversion harness (from sealed beam to H4) from Painless already. I had it on my Camaro. Should work here too lol

You might think so, but three years running with this setup and nothing has fried yet. BTW, being an electrical engineer, I know what to look for.
