Tune up info??

Hey All, I read some of the old posts for this type of info, but could not find all the answers to my questions. I just got my 93 N/A on the road and its been sitting for about a year now. I was planning on changing plugs and wires just cause its been sitting so long, but is there anything else you guys would recommend changing after a long sit like that.

Also, when I went to buy the plugs and wires, they charged me like 65 for wires and 45 for the plugs. But I wasnt sure if I got the good plugs for it. I thought I read somewhere that they made the NGK plugs for it and those were the way to go. Anyways, any input would be helpful.

Thanks,
Scott

Most of the stuff you read about ignition tune up's is for the turbo model.

You will be pretty good doing the wires and plugs. If you want to go the extra step you can do the rotor and cap of your distributor. 5sfe's don't eat up ignition components like 3sgtes do.

for 45.00 i guess u got platinum plugs. there good for the N/A..when you crank your engine don't run it too fast. let the oil circulate thru the engine.have you started it at all in the past year?

Yeah, I have the platinum plugs and factory wires. I thought they were kinda expensive. Are they that much better than aftermarket? Ive been driving it all day today and it seems to run pretty good. The check engine light comes on once in a while, especially when first started. Im guessing its the oxygen sensor. Would you guys recommend factory oxygen sensor too, or just go aftermarket for less cost?
Thanks again, Scott

check the plug leading to the sensor prior to replacing the O2 .... mine has magically worked its way loose numerous times to cause my check engine light to come on when I'm out for a good drive.

I would do the cap & rotor as well.
An oil change, fuel filter and air filter would not be such a bad idea either
