Last preview of Hyde's TMIC before he goes under the knife ...

I am competing in the IDRC event at Maple Grove this weekend and then Hyde will be taken off the street for a few weeks in order to compete his TMIC set up.

I recently picked up an RMR Racing intake manifold from an MR2OC member that is all ready prepared for a Q45 90 MM throttle body. I do not have the throttle body yet, but it should be in the mail as we speak

With the addition of the RMR & the TB, all that was left is hose connections and clamps. I will be ordering my constant-tension worm drive clamps from McMasters in the next few days:

I really want to thank TURBOHOSES for sponsoring this project. Hoover at turbohoses has been awesome to deal with and I can't thank him enough. The hoses look awesome

So, here's the last 2 sneak preview pics before surgery:

Yep, and the rear-facing scoop (and cut out center panel in between the rear lights) will suck air out due to a low pressure area behind the car.

pretty clever, i cant wait to see if it works!

Hyde, thats the way I have my TMIC set up. There is an intake at the bottom of the trunk and I trimmed the rear pannel out and mounted fans there. It looks kinda stock IMO and I love the way you can seen into the trunk from behind at night (through the mesh kinda like the rear vent on the F40 LOL)

Here's a sneak preview "in progress" shot.
Unfortunately, because of the siez of everything, we are forced to lay the IC down flat.
I wanted it standing up, but that just can't happen

Here's the pic:

Looks good so far ... can you not even angle the IC a bit? i would think that'd make it easier for air to go through.

are you thinking of selling any of the parts that this TMIC has replaced? thanks!

I like that approach way better than the rest of the trunk mounts I have seen. Most can't pull it off obviously because of the stock intake manifold and throttle body. This seems much more logical as opposed to going strait from the turbo to the trunk and making a U into the throttle body. Can't wait to see it done.... great work once again

Thanks guys ... this has been one hell of a project.
The Subura scoop is mounted in the trunk lid, that was kinda fun.
I told my body guy that it needed to be secure at speed, so he used the same silicone they use to hold the NASCAR windshields in place. I guess that will be good enough

Drifting Dane, I sold everything in one big shot. A buyer bought everything IC/FANs/intake manifold/throttlebody ... everything.

ishcoleobo, yeah, that U-turn that most people make is not pretty. We were trying to go for the the least amount of curves.

QuadCamSix, it's huge. That's why we could not run with it standing up. It just wouldn't work that way.

MR2BAD, actually Hyde probably gained a bit of weight. The IC core is heavy. The throttle body is heaveier than the last one. The pipes are lighter and I am losing the fans.

We'll see when I hit the scales

We haven't decided where the ECU is going yet.
If you notice in the photos I do have a a black Subaru Scoop ... not sure which model it came from as I got it off of eBay

That scoop is mounted onto my CF trunk.
I should have pics tomorrow.
