What coolant

Hey guys had a question for you all. Is it safe to run straight water during the summer and before the weather starts to go cold again switch back to a 50/50 blend. I am a weekend track racer and looking for a little better edge. Thanks.

that is correct, and since water hes a higher specific heat than the coolant, it will decrease your temps, but not to the point where youll notice any difference in performance or even reliability. :/

But if itll make you feel better, then go for it!

distilled water and RedLine Water Wetter if it is a track car. i agree...no edge to be found...straight water will net you some rust (perhaps) in your engine.

What? I'm sure the ethylene glycol is lighter than water. He can save at least .06 pounds of weight!

Yes, it's an N/A. It IS a 3.0 liter V6 though. Does that matter?

Thanks for the imput. I've gone out to redlines website and they say that they recommend a 15% antifreeze to water mix in the summer for best safe performance of their product. By the way if you haven't checked out their products I recommend it.
