Want MR2, what to look for, bigger turbo?

I found a 91 MR2 turbo that I want. I'd like to know what to watch out for like body rust, turbo longevity, engine maintenence. What's the biggest turbo I can put on it without modifying the engine and without having to get bigger wastegate, BOV, intercooler, etc. TIA to all who answer.

I have a'91 also..I have 147k on the turbo.as of now-no problems with the turbo. maintainance is mostly the same as any other car. reg. oil changes, tune ups, etc.I think the only upgraded turbo you can use w/o those mods is the CT27 from ATS Racing .. and u will s prolly still have to eliminate boost cut (which is 12psi)
if you go with a bigger turbo, u will probably need fuel enhancement , larger IC, fan, eliminate boost cut, and some type of wastegate if the new turbo doesn't have one since the stock CT26 turbo has an internal wastegate.

Ok, how much would the ct27 cost and how much more horsepower could I possibly gain? How much boost can that motor take? I'm not a racer I just wanna know the limits. The one I found is cheap but it needs to be painted. Only has 106k miles and sounds good.

Another reason I was asking about turbocharging is I know someone who has a garrett GT30 turbo complete with BOV, bigger intercooler, wastegate, etc, but for an sr20 DET. I was wondering if that turbo will do. If I can work a deal on the MR2 I guess I just better get the CT27, it's tried and true and 300 whp is plenty.
