Angry annoyin boost problem

has any1 had this problem?or one similar?
at low boost, bout 4psi,my car runs ok,but hesitats just slightly under load, but when i have the boost higher,it realy hesitates and jerks badly, and will barely boost above 11psi,when i hav it set to a bar.It used to boost to a bar in 5th,but only to bout 8psi in lower gears, which i couldnt understand?i have a ball and spring manuel boost adjuster on it but i dont entirely trust that.iv checked the maf meter,it gives out the corrct readings, and so does the iat sensor.does any1 have any sujestions or ideas as to what may be wrong?? thanks

how old are u ignition components???....i would suggest changing your cap/rotor/wires and plugs and see if hesitation continues.....nine times out of ten....its ignition related.....

When you say you "checked the maf meter," I hope you did not undo the 2 tiny screws on the side of it. That would damage the unit.

I know I am new here and sad to say I don't have my MR2 yet, but wont a BOV do this too? If the preasure is not released would it not do the same?

A BOV could be the problem if it is opening prematurely and letting the boost out so it does not build.
