2nd Generation Exhaust Opinion

I was told that HKS Dual Exhaust for Toyota MR2 Turbo can also fit on a Non-turbo.

Is this true and has anyone tried this before?

No, the exhaust manifold on the N/A and the downpipe on the turbo are both on the same side (Toword the front of the car). But I'm pretty sure they wouldn't mate up the same way, but I really don't know for sure.

IF you are asking if it will bolt right up, the answer is no...

with minor modification, (not sure what this entails, but was looking into doing this a while back) it will fit... prolly take about $100 for a shop to hook it up right

The NA and turbo "b-pipes" are not the same.
The B-pipe is the piece between the main cat (or downpipe) and hte catback exhaust.
The turbo has a second cat in it which makes it a few inches longer, so ...

If you get an aftermarekt exhaust that starts from the b-pipe and goes back it will not fit.

If you get an aftermarket exhaust that starts at the primary cat, it will bolt up to both cars easily.

Someone out there makes a NA->Turbo exhaust adapters. The turbo b-pipe is a little bit shorter.... so if you have an NA.... you get the little extension piece. Or just have one made..... or screw it.... just do a turbo swap.

Also.... which HKS exhaust are you talking about?!??! The HKS Sport should match up fine to both the NA and turbo as Jekylandhyde explained about it starting at the cat. But the HKS Dual Dragger WILL NOT fit unless you get that little piece made.

Thanks for the help.

Here is a pic of the exhaust.

Will this work on a N/A?
Is it the HKS sport or HKS Dual Dragger?

Yes that will fit an NA since it is only a muffler replacement. That is not the dual dragger, so if HKS only make two exhausts, then it is the other.

Hey
I am going do a custom exhaust just like JekylandHyde did with his NA (Jekyl). I am getting it done for $300.00. That is parts and labor. Plus, I have control on the appearance. I will share the mechanic's info with everyone in San Diego after it is done.

But today the car is going to the body shop for a paint job. I am changing the color. It is currently crimision red. It is going to be a color I never seen on a MR2. It is a neutral color nothing bright, but really smooth. Can not give the paint color away yet. I will send photos next week. I am excited.
