Ignition / Car Alarm

So I was doing my long run this past saturday and at about mile 7 it started to rain. The remote to my alarm / remote unlock shorted out. By the end of the run it was completely dark, and the heat index was still 100+, so I manually unlocked the door, popped the hood, and disconnected the alarm.

When it was disconnected before all I had to do was have the door open to start the car ( some of you may remember my first post which was on this ^_^ ).

This worked Saturday Night and four different times this morning. When I went to leave for lunch the car turned on for a split second and when I went to start it, it died. Can't turn on the dome, or anything. Tried a push start, jump start, nothing would turn on, not even the dome light when attached to the other car's battery.

Would completely removing the alarm and reconfiguring the wires return it to normal, or does this sound like it was the start of a much larger problem? =(

Your sure you did not leave wires hanging that could have blown a fuse?

Shorted the system to ground?

Neither. Found out the alarm is set to ground out the start and the ignition if it loses power. Disconnected and its fine.
