Unhappy Fuel Pump failure question?

Yesterday I'm driving home from work. I stop at the store and when I go to back out and as I'm pulling back my car stalls. I pull back into the space and go to start it and it won't start. It cranks but no go. I'm thinking it might be the fuel pump but I'm hope it's not. I checked the EFI fuse and it is fine. Is there anything else I should check? Is there a modulator some where (in the distributor) that may be bad? Maybe not giving it any spark? If it is the fuel pump does anyone know how much I'm looking at for the part and labor? Any help would be appreciated.

What you describe is not normal behavior for a failing fuel pump. Electric pumps usually lose pressure for a while before they just stop altogether. In this case, the car drives like garbage, especially under heavy load, because the pump can't supply enough fuel.

my fuel pump went out in my '92 N/A. pump's in the tank- I had techs do it .and if i remember correctly, they had to pull the tank. and with parts and labor it was $225.00- ten yrs ago!!! so more than likely it will be more by now..

The cars have diagnostic connectors. Use them!
