Hello all,

I'm very sorry if these questions have been brought up. If they were please refer me to the right place.

Well..I always wanted a MR2 Turbo MKII. And I've been searching on ebay for quite some time. Alot of them that seem affordable around my range either has really high miles or are JDM. And what I fear the most is Emissions. As I live in NYC.

My question is:
1. Will a stock MR2 Turbo USDM with high miles (150k) pass emissions/smog checks if they are left stock?

2. If not, will a rebuild be costly? And can someone give me a ball park figure on a rebuild. I know the JDMS 2nd Gen cost 1800+around $800 for installation. But that isn't legal at all.

Sigh....so many dreams, yet so many obstacles. Please help me out fellow MR2 lovers.

I don't know about how the SMog testing is run over in New York, but here in AZ if it is stock passing is pretty easy. At least that is what I am told.

The main part of smog testing is the inspection to check for all the pricey HP robbing goodies. If your MR2 is running good, then I don't know why it would not pass. They won't expect it to run like a brand new Civic.
