HELP!! electrical problem during boost gauge install...

while installing a mechanical boost gauge i was trying to hook up the electrical wires that make the gauge glow to the dimmer. after a few failed attempts i decided to try again the next day, but to my suprise my gauge cluster does not light up and my parking lights now do not work. my headlights, fog lights, break lights, turn signals, all interior lighting, the gauge cluster engine diagnostic icons and turn signal icons work. the only thing that does not work is the light of the gauge cluster and the parking lights. ive checked the fuse for the guage panel and it was blown pritty bad, so i changed it out but it still didnt do anything. ive checked to see if and current is getting to that fuse and it is, but the dimmer switch itself is not gettin any current ( it was earlier ) . i am now gettin pritty frustrated and thinking it might be a big problem as i also need to get my inspection renewed (is parking lights not working enough to fail you?) any ideas suggestion and help would be appreciated. thank you

miguel

a few years ago i had indiglo gauges hooked up to the dimmer, that made my needles not light up. i don't know what it is about this dimmer but it does not like sharing power with anything lol.

i have my boost gauge power wired in to the driver side fuse box next to the clutch pedal.
