86 mr2, low oil pressure? YOU VIEW NOW!!

My oil pressure is usually at 1/4 or a little more when its warmed up (about 800/700 RPM), when im speeding the most it will rise up to is 3/4. I would like to know how much pressure should i have. I also use to have a oil leak from the distributor, but i dont think it would affect the pressure. does anyone have any suggestions? so far, im thinking about replacing the oil pump and getting a oil gauge. My mr2 is stock engine wise, regular 4age. any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
