2nd Generation SW20 Stuck in 3rd Gear.

I was driving my SW20 today and suddenly noticed that the car was stuck in 3rd gear! I eventually shook the shifter around side to side and that loosened it. I figured it was no big deal. As I was entering the parking lot (at third gear), I downshifted to 2nd to pull into an empty space and I got STUCK again! What seems to be the problem? I'm sure its not the clutch because I just got a new clutch less than 6months ago. Is it low on oil? Where do I refill and what kind of oil do I need exactly? Please Advise. I am looking forward to getting this resolved before I start up the car again. I got it back into neutral after being stuck in the parking lot for 10mins. I'm afraid to take it on the freeway because It would suck to be stuck bumper to bumper on 3rd gear....HELP!

I know you said you got a new clutch, but thats what it sounds like to me.could be the hydrolics. check your fluid. if the resevoir is full, it may be the clutch master and/or clutch slave.someone can step on the clutch while another person is under the car to see if the clutch slve moves in and out. if the slave doesn't move, it's the hydrolics and both components need to be changed or rebuilt.I just had mine changed out a few weeks ago. the trans takes 90wt gear oil....there is a filler hole on the side of the tranny...

Mine gets stuck in reverse sometimes, when its not warmed up yet. I can usually yank it out before I stop rolling backwards. It acts like it's going to die if I don't take it out of gear. I have to let the clutch all the way out and engage it again to go into first. After it warms up, no problems. Might this be the same problem? My clutch is fairly new too, about 8 or so months.

I doubt it's the clutch itself, but I definately agree with MR2BADs second suggestion. Check all the hydraulics.
