Suspension Pop

Alright guys got a hard one for ya. My 91 MR2 has recently just started making a loud popping sound coming from the center passenger side of the car in front of the passenger. I havent had the time to get it up on a lift to go over it but what I can tell u is that it only pops when the strut decompresses. Also I was able to feel under the car and found that when it pops you can feel it in the sway bar. Any help is greatly appreciated. So if anybody knows of any common problems with the front suspension or just an idea of what this could be im all ears. Thanks.

I've had the same problem for a while... I've changed the following parts:
-both front struts
-both front strut mounts
-both front ball joints
-both front stabilizer links
I even wrapped my springs in silicon hose hoping that would shut it up.... didn't help

about all I can do next is replace the bushings , and\or my steering components.

I've seen a few others with the same problems... hope yours is an easy fix

2nd Generation

Ok for u guys who said that they culdnt figure the pop out ive discovered what mine was if it helps any. I raised the car up and pulled the passenger side sway bar bracket that holds it to the frame off only to realize that the bracket had punched throught the part of the frame it connects to. My temporary fix consisted of taking a 2.5" diameter 3/16" thick washer and placed it between the bracket and the frame. Seems to hold up to the punishment long enough for me to go get it fixed properly.
